Volodymyr Overko is a decorated World War II veteran and Honorary Citizen of Kyiv. Volodymyr volunteered to join the Soviet army in 1941 at the age of 15, falsifying his age to enlist. He later served as a communications specialist on the front lines and sustained a combat injury during his service.
