Russian Lancet Drone Strike Kills 2 People, Injures 11 Including Teens in Chernihiv Region

Two civilians were killed and 11 others injured—including four teenagers—when a Russian Lancet drone struck the outskirts of the village of Novi Borovychi in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, the head of the Chernihiv regional Administration, Viacheslav Chaus, reported on June 22.
June 23 was declared a Day of Mourning in the Snovsk community to honor the victims.
According to Pavlo Miroshnychenko, head of the Koriukivka District Military Administration, a Russian reconnaissance drone first spotted a group of people gathered outside before a Lancet loitering munition targeted the area just minutes later.
“The enemy drone detected civilians and struck with intent. It was a deliberate hit on a group of local residents,” Miroshnychenko stated.

The attack occurred near Snovsk, a small town close to the Russian border in northern Ukraine. The Department of Civil Protection and Defense reported that two vehicles were destroyed and another was damaged in the blast.
Of the 11 injured, four were teenagers between the ages of 15 and 16. All victims are currently being treated in local hospitals, with two in critical condition having been transferred to the regional medical center. The remaining individuals suffered moderate injuries and remain under medical supervision.
Earlier, Russian forces attacked a Ukrainian border village in the Novhorod-Siverskyi district of the Chernihiv region on the evening of June 12. A 46-year-old local resident was killed in the strike, which was carried out using an FPV drone.
