Zelenskyy Declares Readiness for First Official EU Negotiation Phase

Ukraine is fully prepared to open the first negotiation clusters on European Union membership, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address on May 21.
“I held several international calls today. I spoke with the President of the European Council, António Costa, and updated him on talks with the United States and relevant agreements with other European partners. We are also preparing in detail for the negotiation process on Ukraine’s EU accession. On our side, everything is ready for the launch of the first clusters,” Zelenskyy stated.
Additionally, Zelenskyy spoke with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, noting the importance of Poland’s current presidency of the EU Council.
