“Bold Leadership Can Change the Battlefield”: Kellogg on Ukraine’s Strikes as Peace Opportunity

US Special Representative for Ukraine Keith Kellogg has praised recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian aviation assets, describing them as a demonstration of effective and courageous leadership.

In a post on social platform X on June 6 Kellogg stated that "bold leadership and audacious action can change the nature of the battlefield," referencing both his own military background and historical precedents.

He credited the operation to Ukraine’s Security Service, the Main Intelligence Directorate, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

“This event can be a forcing function for peace but both sides must remain committed to President Trump's mission — stop the killing and end the war,” Kellogg wrote.

Earlier, according to the special envoy, both the US Congress and the White House are ready to approve the sanctions package, with Russia’s petrochemical sector identified as the primary target.

He added that the proposed legislation may introduce a 500% tariff on Russian imports to the United States.
