President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on the United States, Europe, and international partners to increase pressure on Russia following another massive missile strike on Ukrainian territory during the night of June 6.

In a statement posted on Telegram on June 6, the President emphasized that Russia must be held accountable for its actions.

“Russia must be held responsible. From the very first minutes of this war, they have been striking cities and villages to destroy lives,” Zelenskyy stated.

He noted that the international community has already done much to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities, but stressed that the time has come for decisive action to stop the Russia.

“Now is the moment when America, Europe, and the entire world can stop this war by putting pressure on Russia. If anyone refrains from doing so and allows the war more time to claim lives, that is complicity and responsibility,” he added.

Earlier, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned Russia’s large-scale overnight attack on Ukrainian cities, calling it a brutal act of retaliation for the recent destruction of Russian military aircraft.

“Overnight, Russia ‘responded’ to its destroyed aircraft…by attacking civilians in Ukraine,” Sybiha wrote.

He underscored the stark contrast between the conduct of the two countries, stating: “The difference between Ukraine and Russia is that Ukraine hits legitimate military targets—such as aircraft equipped to bomb our children. Russia targets residential areas, civilians, and critical infrastructure.”
